THREADNEEDLE HOTEL
London, England
The Threadneedle in London, originally known as Birmingham and Midland Bank, features a stained-glass dome dating back to 1856. This historic building spans 130,000 square feet and has 74 guest rooms. Amenities include a bar and a restaurant that was renovated from the main areas of the bank. The original building was designed by W & A Moseley and was later transformed into a hotel in 2002, keeping its elegance and Victorian architectural style on the exterior. The structure is London’s oldest surviving site of a bank. The name itself comes from the name of the street the structure resides on: Threadneedle Street.
Original concept by Steven W. Miller and Peter Inston, RIBA.
