SPANELESKO (SPANISH) SYNAGOGUE

Prague

The Spanelsko or Spanish Synagogue was built in 1868 after the previous synagogue that stood there was demolished. It served as a place of worship until 1939 and was later converted into a museum. The building is three stories in height with a square ground plan and features a large stained-glass mural. It also has three balconies around the dome. The style was inspired by Arabic architecture and takes on a more Moorish Revival style on the exterior. The
interior was last restored in 1998 and continues to be a museum.

Interior restored by Prague Investments with Steven W. Miller and dedicated to Marcia Miller.
