MYSAK GALLERY, FUTURE LE MERIDIEN
Prague
Le Meridien was a proposed project on the site of two former townhouses, originally built in the 1880s. The older homes had a Neo-Renaissance façade but were later re-designed to have a “Rondocubist” façade as of 1922. The exterior of the building is what made the building itself famous. The building was demolished in the 1990s, even though the structure, made of timber and masonry, was sound. In the early twenty-first century, the Mysak Gallery was built and opened in 2007 in the original spot. It is a three-story shopping gallery with a glass roof with ample retail space. Le Meridien was intended to be a hotel with retail and restaurants located on the ground floor and it would have kept the style of the original façade.
Original Concept by Steven W. Miller and Martin Kotik.
