MANDARIN ORIENTAL HOTEL KARMELISKA

Prague

The Mandarin Oriental is a restored 14th-century Dominican Monastery in the Mala Strana District in Prague featuring 99 guest rooms, each with unique features such as vaulted or arched ceilings and limestone bathrooms. Among its amenities is a Baroque-styled dining room. While the original monastery was redesigned to accommodate the hotel’s contemporary design, traces of its Baroque style remain evident in the spa and the building’s exterior. One can enter the hotel through its gated walls that separate it from the busy street it resides on. Some traces of the original monastery can be seen through illuminated glass panels on the glass floor of the Health Spa Lobby, tying the original structure with the new one.
